P + You = P'Co Design
Pete Wilson founded P'Co Design in 2018 to explore new and exciting creative collaborations for works in the public realm. Pete designs experiences and environments that bring people together to have fun, explore ideas and connect with knowledge, culture and communities. His user-centered approach to design embraces meaningful collaborative relationships and a playful yet pragmatic creative sensibility.
From 2008 - 2018 Peter was Senior and Lead Exhibition Designer at Museums Victoria, Australia's largest public museums organisation. Through a model of deep community and stakeholder collaboration, Pete has led many multidisciplinary teams to deliver national and international award-winning exhibitions.
Previous work includes major projects for The Australian War Memorial, National Museum of Australia, South Australian Museum, Taronga, Melbourne and Werribee Zoos, Melbourne Commonwealth Games Opening Ceremony and a multitude of smaller commercial and cultural installations and activations.

Australian Interior Design Awards
2017 Winner: Design Impact
First Peoples exhibition.
This award recognizes the significant influence over time of a design's social, cultural, business, and environmental outcomes.
Jury comment "The cultural exhibition has been a benchmark both nationally and globally in providing other indigenous cultures with a platform with which to tell their history through first-hand storytelling."

Judges comments: "Creative, beautifully executed installation. Supports the multiple ways parents/carers and children use a museum in the course of any one visit. Great diversity in the community consultation. Staff across a range of disciplines undertook the research and the observation to better understand their audience. Rich resource on how to apply the curriculum for educators. Good combination of museum exhibits and childrens zones/activities/graphics."

A Melbourne Award is the city’s highest accolade. The awards celebrate significant contributions in the areas of environmental sustainability, community, multiculturalism and strengthening Melbourne’s profile.
MAVIC Victorian Museum Awards
2017 Winner: Large Museums
Pauline Gandel Children's Gallery.
The Victorian Museum Awards recognise and celebrate excellence in museum practice. The judges commented that the Gallery was “Clearly a gallery that is leading the way in capturing the early learning, young children and family audience, ultimately converting that audience into long-term museum goers,” and were impressed that, “Melbourne Museum has put children and parents/carers at the forefront of planning and design, while still having a strong museum and education pedagogy behind it.”
